Behind the Mission
Welcome!
I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Yolanda, and I’m an Assistive Technology and Accessibility Consultant, Public Speaker, Facilitator, and Parent/Disability Rights Advocate. But above all, I’m a proud mom to an incredible autistic teen with cerebral palsy and epilepsy, who uses AAC and a wide range of assistive technologies to support her in many aspects of her life. Assistive Technology isn’t just my work—it’s part of who I am, woven into every aspect of my life.
With over 25 years of experience in healthcare, human services, community outreach, disability rights, and health education, my passion is helping individuals with disabilities find the resources, knowledge, and support they need to thrive. My mission is to be there for you, guiding and empowering you to make decisions that enhance your health, safety, and overall well-being.
As a parent walking a similar path, I understand the joys and challenges that come with it. Whether I’m sharing insights in a talk, leading a workshop, or advocating for rights, my heart is in making sure you feel supported, understood, and confident at every stage of your journey.
Thank you for joining me here. Together, we’re creating a more accessible and inclusive world.
Throughout my career, I’ve gained a wealth of experiences in assistive technology, accessibility consulting, and comprehensive evaluations. As a parent advocate, I’ve supported the development of IFSPs and IEPs, ensuring that both adults and children receive the proper services they need.
What sets me apart is the trust I’ve built with my clients and stakeholders. My dedication to advancing the civil rights of disabled individuals and ensuring access to essential services drives everything I do. I live these experiences daily, understanding the intricacies of assistive technology and accessibility. When you work with me, you’re not just a client—you’re part of a supportive circle.
I’m passionate about providing comprehensive guidance and insights that position my clients for success. As a lifelong mentor and friend, I’m here to empower you with the knowledge to make informed decisions for yourself and your future. I’ve served on several local and state advisory committees, including those focused on Disabilities Access to Higher Education and Employment First, deepening my commitment to advancing access and inclusion.
I believe in giving a voice to those who need it most and creating brighter futures for individuals and communities alike. Your quality of life and happiness matter to me, and I’m here to ensure this journey is as smooth and rewarding as possible.
