Services Offered

As an Assistive Technology Consultant, Facilitator, Health Educator, and Parent/Disabilities Rights Advocate, my services are carefully designed to provide individuals/students regardless of race, culture, gender identity, and sexual orientation, what they deserve the most: the highest quality assistive technology services and resources that enable them to maximize their potential academically, professionally, and personally. This is done through a variety of services spanning from empowering students with disabilities, teachers, administrators, caretakers, and other individuals through personalized support, assessment tools and professional development opportunities. The aim?To spark a lifelong passion for learning, accentuate the value of diversity and representation, and increase independence across a diverse range of environments.

Services For Schools & Districts

By offering a comprehensive range of assistive technologies and services, I strive to create a level playing field for all individuals regardless of their individual learning challenges. My goal is not only to provide students with the key tools they need to succeed in an ever-changing educational system but also to ensure that schools, districts, and post-secondary institutions have the necessary support to implement these tools effectively.This includes AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) and alternative computer access technologies that can increase independence, self-confidence, academic achievement, technical literacy, educational opportunities, and overall quality of life.

Though I focus heavily on AT for autism, learning disabilities, and learning differences, I seek to equip all children and adults with the resources they need to reach their full potential, as well as help educators gain the skills necessary to teach confidently and effectively in an inclusive classroom setting.

Professional Development and Training

With diversity and inclusion always being the foundational factor, I train staff and students on the use of selected AT devices and software, including operational skills and application strategies.

AT Assessment

My AT assessments involve working extensively with students, educators, and other individuals to identify appropriate AT devices and services to accentuate academic and community goals. Even more, provide written reports and attend IEP meetings if necessary.

Acquisition of Technology

Identify, provide, and assist in the acquisition of recommended sources of technology. Through this service, the goal is to help individuals reach their unique versions of success by providing access to reliable resources for technological advancement and making it easy for them to fulfill their goals.

Alternative Format Materials

Providing equitable access to AT for people with disabilities by acquiring and converting materials into various alternative formats (e-text, audio, Braille, etc.) for use with AT, such as text-to-speech software, DAISY players, among others. This is also done in conjunction with identifying the best sources for specific types of materials based on the formats needed and how they will be used.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

To guide and help educators adopt UDL practices so they can create inclusive and equitable learning environments. This is done by incorporating various innovative instructional technologies such as text-to-speech software, graphic organizers, interactive whiteboards, and other relevant digital resources. The goal is to ensure meaningful learning experiences for all students regardless of their ability and background and providing educators with universally designed instructional materials to build equitable classrooms.

Services for Students and Families

I specialize in helping students and their families of all backgrounds and beliefs gain the fundamental tools and resources they need to succeed. This is through providing the highest quality of individualized, goal-oriented assessments, training in assistive technologydevices and software, and technical assistance to meet each learner’s unique needs and preferences. This service targets individuality as well as the larger picture of optimizing student success both inside and outside of the classroom and creating a more inclusive, representative, and opportune world for people with disabilities.

AT Assessment

My AT assessments entail working exclusively with students, educators, and others to identify appropriate AT devices and services that will both meet and exceed studentacademic and community goals. If necessary, this also includes providing written reports and attending IEP meetings.

Training

Deliver students and families with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to effectively use assistive technology (AT) software and devices. This is done through tailored education and step-by-step mentorship that covers topics such as how to operate devices and/or software, how to modify settings for optimal accessibility, and how to troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during use.

Technology Configuration

Provide comprehensive technology configuration services that meet the individual needs of every student. I strive to make the setup and installation of their computer and software as painless, secure, and user-friendly as possible, as well as provide students and their families with customized technical assistance so that they can focus on maximizing their learning experience.

This includes heavy collaboration with industry professionals and thought leaders on assistive technology assessments and offering value-based consultation services on rectifying various assistive technology-related issues.The ultimate goal is to be a facilitator of inclusion by providing industry-wide resources and solutions that promote independence, self-determination, and accessibility for all.

On a grander scale, I strive to provide the necessary tools, tips, and strategies needed to help others make the most of these technologies. My initiative is not just to educate on a community level through custom online training, consultation, and workshopsbut deliver unprecedented support that allows individuals with disabilities to achieve greater independence, self-advocacy, and life-fulling confidence. What does this entail?

Classes on Assistive Technology

Comprehensive, empowering, and engaging classes on all things assistive technology. These classes are for all individuals of any age, ability, or background who are ready to leverage assistive technology in their everyday lives both confidently and independently. Classes and training are available upon request and are fully customized to fit the needs of your group.

In-Person Training

Alongside online support, I also offer in-person training, primarily in the DMV(District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia). These are engaging and all-inclusive learning environments that aim to provide the guidance necessary to help individuals take their AT skills and knowledge to the next level.

Hands-On Workshops

Small group focused, my hands-on workshops are a wonderful way for individuals and their families/caretakers to really get accustomed and comfortable using a variety of technologies ranging from low-tech to high-tech devices.
